Encore! Double Happiness Brunch at Mill Valley General Store (2800 Sisson, Baltimore) this Sunday from 9-1.
Join me for a bowl of congee, savory rice porridge with your choice of delicious add-ins, or for jian bing, an addictive Beijing-style crepe filled with egg & veggies & more. Either one is $6 so it won’t break the bank, everything’s vegetarian (unless you opt for the ground pork and garlic in your congee) so you don’t have to worry about that, and tea/coffee are available from Mill Valley’s other fabulous vendors.
No reservations necessary — just come on over and say hi!
I’d love to make brunch for you! Come join me for
Double Happiness Brunch
Go to bed in Baltimore, but wake up in China!
Customize your bowl of China’s favorite breakfast — the savory rice porridge
known as congee or jook — with your own distinctive mix of scallions,
fried peanuts, red-cooked egg or tofu, our own house-made Hunan-style
pickle, or minced pork with garlic.
Or kick it Beijing-style with a favorite street food expats call “Egg McMao,”
a big addictive Chinese crepe made right before your eyes, stuffed with egg,
veggies, hoisin sauce, sweet house-made chili-garlic paste,
and a piece of the fried bread called yu tiao.
Either one is $6… come hungry and try both!
